What I’m reading

GOtT The Girl on the Train

By Paula Hawkins

Plan is to rotate between nonfiction and fiction. This is supposed to be a suspenseful thriller in the same vein as Gone Girl. About midway through after three days and it’s definitely living up to the hype.

The Cold War: A New History

By John Lewis Gaddis

Figure it’s time I brush up on my history.

Reaction: This condensed retelling of history really connected a lot of dots in my head. We all know about big historical events, like the Korean and Vietnam wars, but often times never appreciate the context and why they happened. This filled me in on that and much more. I feel enlightened.

By Garth Nix

Book three of the Old Kingdom series. Very good fantasy fiction if you’re into that sort of thing. Books one and two — Sabriel and Lirael, respectively — were excellent and this one is a continuation from the previous book.
